Simple present tense adalah bentuk kata kerja dalam bahasa Inggris yang mengacu pada kejadian atau tindakan yang terjadi pada saat ini atau hal yang dilakukan secara rutin, terjadwal atau kebiasaan.

Dalam simple present tense, kata kerja tidak mengalami perubahan bentuk, kecuali pada subjek ketiga tunggal (he, she, it) yang menambahkan akhiran -s atau -es pada kata kerja.

Contoh Kalimat Simple Present Tense

Contoh kalimat dalam simple present tense adalah “I walk to work every day” (Saya berjalan ke tempat kerja setiap hari).

Pengertian Simple Present Tense

Simple present tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang terjadi secara rutin, berulang, serta kebiasaan.

Simple present tense digunakan ketika seseorang mengungkapkan suatu peristiwa atau fakta umum yang terjadi secara berulang, semisal aktivitas hari-hari, seperti berangkat sekolah, makan, dan kebiasaan lainnya.

Kata kerja simple present tense merupakan bentuk kata kerja yang sering digunakan dalam penulisan maupun percakapan bahasa Inggris.

Rumus Simple Present Tense

Dalam simple present tense, digunakan kata kerja bentuk dasar atau Verb 1. Untuk subjek atau orang ketiga, menggunakan Verb 1 + s/es. Agar lebih jelas, lihat tabel di bawah ini.
